Looe Food Festival
Looe has always been a popular and welcoming town to visit, with its beautiful beach, shops, and numerous and varied eating establishments.
It is particulary famous for its historic fishing industry, and still very busy Day Boat fleet landing top quality `Harvests of the Sea` to be sold in Looe Fish Market, not only to local suppliers, but to be transported far and wide including overseas.
The Looe Food Festival has also become an important part of community life. In only two years, this completely self financed food event, has become one of the largest and most popular food events in the Westcountry.
Held in a giant pavilion erected in a picturesque location on the banks of the East and West Looe rivers, in the Millpool Car Park, West Looe, it gives locals and visitors alike the opportunity to be able to sample and purchase top quality food and drink from producers and suppliers from throughout Cornwall and beyond. There is also the knock on effect of attracting new visitors to the area, in turn bringing increased prosperity to local shops, accommodation providers and other businesses.
We are very mindful that we have to improve year on year in size and diversity, and we feel that we have achieved this. The success of this event is not only due to the support of the traders on show, and of the important support of our sponsors, but also of the local community through their support.
